THE BRIEF

The Banjo, a much-loved institution in the Snowy Mountains was in need of some new life and energy. They had a major renovation underway but their current brand did not reflect the evolution of their product offering. We were engaged to create a brand that appealed to the premium tastes of the tourists and residents who were coming into the Jindabyne area from Canberra & Sydney. At the same time, we needed to maintain the character and history of the venue and not alienate the substantial local market.

The gateway to the Snowy Mountains, The Banjo captures the excitement and adventure of the region known for rugged mountain landscapes, breathtaking alpine scenery, and as an adventure playground for skiers, snowboarders, mountain bikers, and outdoor enthusiasts.

The ultimate play and stay destination, the adventure experienced outside continues within. Excited patrons enjoy numerous dining options, the Kosciuszko Brewery, and three bars, and can wander upstairs to the on-site boutique hotel, Banjo’s Rest when it’s time to pull up stumps.

The Overflow is a sub-brand of the venue and offers American diner style classics. Patrons can enjoy a casual meal in the venue or grab something on the go.

Clancy’s Brasserie is a sub-brand within Banjo’s. It’s an elevated alpine dining experience with a contemporary feel and a stylish new cocktail bar.

Banjo’s Rest is the venue’s newly renovated accommodation. The sub brand is positioned as a boutique hotel but also feels very much a part of the institution that is The Banjo Paterson Inn.
